About SAF

“In an age of cynicism, the South Asia Foundation is an experiment in idealism.”

South Asia Foundation (SAF), set up in 1991, is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political voluntary development organization. SAF was formed to unleash the creativity of the people of South Asia and to transform it into a land of peace and opportunity. The Foundation believes in the power of ideas and the strength of ordinary people. It seeks to create a network of people in the region and attempts to channelise their energies to build a South Asia free of prejudice and bitterness.
